Responsibilities

• Prepare project drawings and documents using the appropriate software.
• Familiar with structural detailing.
• Ensure Document Management System is maintained to current procedures.
• Check design and drawings of design team for accuracy and conformance to technical
• specifications and procedures.
• Conduct simple site surveys and reports, if required, to facilitate design
• Ensure deliverables are completed within time schedule.
• Be conversant with and ensure compliance with current CAD draughting standards and procedures.
• Ensure all relevant specifications, codes, standards and procedures and technical instructions from engineering are being correctly applied.
• Review planning charts and other planning documents to ensure smooth progress in design work
• Liaise and co-operate with other disciplines and ensure that requests/instructions are confirmed in writing.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering (Civil or Marine) or equivalent
• 5-10 Years offshore/shipyard working experience in Structural Design
• Jack-up, FPSO or FSO experience would be an advantage
• Experience in offshore simple site survey practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of materials and components used within the discipline.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with offshore vessel structure design and practice
• Excellent AUTOCAD and PC skills, especially with Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical & problem solving skills with attention to details
• Excellent communication skills
• Preferably had worked in a Shipyard or on offshore vessel design
