Metacor Vietnam (www.metacor.ca) is a Canadian invested company related to Metacor International. Metacor works with steel and various alloys to manufacture industrial goods and equipment, complex structures and steel components. Finished goods are destined for export and will be used in energy production plants, petrochemical plants and refineries, pulp and paper mills, complex structures (architecturally exposed structures, stadiums, airports, etc.), steel mills and aluminum smelters, mining installations and in the naval industry. The Canadian technology and manufacturing processes will be transferred to the new enterprise and the Vietnamese facility shall qualify for the same certifications as the Canadian facilities. Our first 5-hectare factory in Vietnam has a capacity of 30,000 tons per year. Metacor Vietnam shall offer the most demanding international standards of fabrication Mô Tả Công Việc In charge of the overall management of the awarded projects from order entry to project delivery. This will include (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities: - Read and understand contracts in English in order to point out to the Plant Manager areas of work that require specific attention. - Review and compare customer P.O.s with quotations from the factory and point out any and all discrepencies. - Contractual management as well as project management in terms of schedule, cost, quality, resources, risk and waste, documentation and procurement. - Plan the project schedules and co-ordinate all efforts from participants to ensure the products are produced and delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and customers’ specifications on time. - Report to the Plant Manager immediately and liaise with Clients (after obtaining prior approval from the Plant Manager) any issues that may occur during a project relating to design, fabrication, quality, etc. - Continually seek to identify areas of risk, delays, and waste and resolve them before they impact the project. - Communicate effectively with Internal Teams responsible for completing various phases of the project when applicable. - Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project when applicable. - Establish and maintain good relationship with the client while delivering regular communication and update of the project’s progress. The position holder will manage a team of about 1 to 2 Engineers. He must: - monitor work of his team - inform, train, consult and establish a sense of responsibility among his team - find and train, develop his subordinates RELATIONSHIP: Reporting to Plant Manager (expatriate) Internal: Chief of Planning / Nesting, Production supervisors, Quality manager and staff, Purchasing and Logistics staff. External: Customer’s representative, manpower sub-contractors (outsource – when applicable) Yêu Cầu Công Việc Qualifications: Engineer (mechanical or structural) or technical degree, Certificate of project management. Knowledge: Good knowledge of fabrication of plate work structure, steel work structure and pressure equipment, class rules, client specifications and quality standards (ISO, ASME, AISC). Basic knowledge of visual inspection and NDT work. Experience: 5-7 years of experience as Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager in steel works / plate works in ISO environment. Skills: MUST: - Good command of both spoken and written English - Read drawings & schematics, welding symbols - Planning and organizing, action – oriented, observation, problem solving, negotiation, customer focus. - Confronting direct reports, directing others, motivating others. - Ability to work under high pressure and strict deadlines PLUS: - Familiar with ASME, AISC, ISO environment The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary package and a good professional working environment where respect is emphasized and merit is recognized.
