JOB DESCRIPTION

Scope of work:

• Work with the operator to gather all vector data, likely in auto-cad format, of their assets.
• Perform Quality Control checks to ensure the original vector data is in the correct datum and projection (i.e. coordinate system), and to check its accuracy compared to other sources, such as reports from sub-contractors. Create GIS Shape files (ESRI Format) from these auto-cad files and add the required attribute fields and populate the attributes with the required information.
• Work with the operator to gather all reports that contain coordinate listings that will be used to create GIS Shape files as points and polygons. These are likely to be site surveys, borehole reports, site clearance surveys etc. Add the required attribute fields and populate the attributes with the required information.
• Work with the operator to gather all text reports, organize them in a folder system on a designated drive, and rename the files (if required).

Software Required:

• Auto-Cad, ESRI ArcGis, and adobe acrobat reader.
  

Skills Required:

• Auto-Cad at a beginners level – used mostly for viewing data and preparing it to be converted to a GIS format.
• ArcGis at an intermediate level.
• Understanding of an offshore field and the operations that take place.
