Select the "Plate name" of the plate that will be loaded with temperature loads. Multiple plates may be selected. Enter the "Load condition" or select from the list of all defined load conditions using the "..." button. Enter the "Load ID" or select from the list of all load IDs for that load condition using the "..." button. Click the "Delete" button to delete all plate temperature loads on the list of selected plates. Enter the "Coefficient of thermal expansion". A typical value for steel would be 0.65 E-5 in/in/°F. Any previous value defined for the selected plates will be changed to the value entered here. Precede will keep only one value per plate, even if in different load conditions. Select the "Temperature type" type from the following: Uniform, Varies between joints, or Varies top to bottom. Enter the "Uniform temperature change", if the ”Temperature type” is set to ”Uniform”. Enter the "Temperature change at joint A", if the ”Temperature type” is set to ”Varies between joints”. Enter the "Temperature change at joint B", if the ”Temperature type” is set to ”Varies between joints”. Enter the "Temperature change on top", if the ”Temperature type” is set to ”Varies top to bottom”. Click the "Load" button to load the list of plates defined by the "Misc/Define List" menu item into the "Plate name" list. Click the "Screen" button to load all plates defined in the current view into the "Plate name" list.
